CORE PRINCIPLES
District 1 deserves leadership that understands the responsibility of public service and treats it with care, humility, and accountability. I am running to bring a people-centered approach to City Council, grounded in transparency, fiscal responsibility, and meaningful collaboration with the communities most impacted by city decisions.

❋ Transparency and Accountability
City government works best when residents understand how decisions are made and have real opportunities to shape them. I believe District 1 residents deserve clear communication, accessible leadership, and accountability at every stage of the decision-making process. From development decisions to budget priorities, transparency builds trust and ensures City Hall works for the people it serves.
❋ People first leadership
Policy should reflect lived experience, not just data points. My approach centers the voices of District 1 residents, especially those who have historically been left out of the conversation. People-first leadership means listening early, showing up consistently, and building solutions with the community rather than for the community.
❋ Fiscal Responsibility
Responsible governance means stewarding public dollars with intention and care. I support thoughtful budgeting that prioritizes essential services, long-term investments, and equitable outcomes. Fiscal responsibility is not about cutting corners. It is about aligning resources with real community needs and planning for sustainable growth.

Climate Sustainability
I support climate policies that protect public health, reduce environmental impact, and prepare District 1 for long-term resilience. This includes advancing sustainable development, protecting green spaces, and investing in infrastructure that balances environmental responsibility with economic realities for residents.

Housing and Infrastructure Balance
Housing affordability and infrastructure must be addressed together. I advocate for a balanced approach that considers both green and gray infrastructure, ensuring development supports livability, mobility, and environmental health. Stabilizing housing while upgrading infrastructure is essential to maintaining strong, connected neighborhoods.
Public Safety
Public safety means more than emergency response. I support a comprehensive approach that includes safe streets, responsive city services, community-based solutions, and accountability. A safer District 1 is one where residents feel heard, supported, and protected in their daily lives.
Out of the Starting Block
If District 1 is to thrive, there are two areas that must shift.
Intentional Growth and System-Level Planning
District 1 is growing, and growth without planning creates instability. I will prioritize intentional growth strategies that stabilize housing, update zoning thoughtfully, and reflect the distinct needs of each part of the district. Smart planning means understanding where density makes sense, where preservation is needed, and how infrastructure, housing, and services work together to support a high quality of life.
Community Engagement and Quality of Life
District 1 deserves a City Council office that is present, accessible, and deeply engaged with residents. I believe the role of a council office is not just to represent the district at City Hall, but to actively collaborate with neighbors, organizations, and stakeholders year-round. True city-community collaboration leads to better outcomes and stronger trust.
