Meet Alexandria

Alexandria is a small business owner, retired NIKE sprinter, UT graduate, and a 21 year Austin resident who has spent more than a decade serving the community through neighborhood leadership, local boards, and City of Austin commissions. She has worked closely with residents in District 1 to address issues ranging from safe streets and affordable housing to access to basic city services.

Her leadership experience includes nine years as Chair and Vice Chair of the Martin Luther King Neighborhood Association, five years as co chair of the East MLK Contact Team, service on the Commission for Women, the African American Resource Advisory Commission, and the Joint Inclusion Commission, and managing a local arts nonprofit in East Austin.

“I’m running for City Council to bring practical problem solving, fiscal responsibility, and people centered leadership to City Hall and to help our city address the challenges created by past policy decisions with clarity and care.”
Real progress happens when community voices are heard, decisions are transparent, and trust is built through consistency. That is the standard I lead by.

Alexandria’s Commitment to District 1

District 1 deserves leadership that is present, accessible, and genuinely responsive. I am committed to fostering a City Hall culture that prioritizes residents over donors or special interests.

  • I believe residents deserve clear communication and real opportunities to shape the decisions that affect their lives. I will prioritize transparency at every stage of the decision-making process so District 1 understands how and why policies are made. Accountability builds trust, and trust is the foundation of effective leadership.

  • I center lived experience in policy decisions. That means listening early, showing up consistently, and building solutions with the community, not for the community. Leadership starts with respect for the voices of neighbors who live the realities our policies impact.

  • I will steward public dollars with care and intention. Fiscal responsibility means aligning our budget with real community needs, investing in essential services, and planning for long-term stability. Responsible governance is about prioritizing people and protecting public resources.

  • District 1 is growing, and growth must be intentional. I support housing stabilization, thoughtful zoning updates, and district-specific planning that protects quality of life. Smart growth means balancing density, infrastructure, and preservation so our neighborhoods remain strong and livable.

  • I will run a District 1 office that is present, accessible, and actively engaged with residents year-round. My role is not only to represent District 1 at City Hall, but to collaborate consistently with neighbors to improve daily life across our communities.

  • I support climate policies that protect public health and prepare District 1 for long-term resilience. That includes sustainable development, protecting green spaces, and investing in infrastructure that reduces environmental impact while supporting economic stability.

  • Housing affordability and infrastructure must be addressed together. I support a balanced approach that considers both green and gray infrastructure to ensure development strengthens livability, mobility, and neighborhood stability.

  • Public safety is about more than emergency response. I support safe streets, responsive services, and community-based solutions that help residents feel secure and supported in their daily lives.
